“[MY FAVORITE PART OF MY JOB IS] MEETING THE PEOPLE I MAKE THE JEWELRY FOR.”

Tell us about yourself! What’s your background and what do you do?

I have a degree in Interior Design and Architecture. I owned and operated a printing company for 12 years. I always needed a creative outlet, so when we sold the printing company over 13 years ago, I began making jewelry and decided to make it my full time job.

How did you learn your craft? Tell us about your first finished product.

I took a precious metal clay class at a local rec center and made a pair of earrings.

“INTO THE BLUE”

Where does the name of your business come from?

Keja is an acronym for our family. Karen, Ethan, Jeff and Abbey.

How long does it take to make your product and what’s involved in the process?

I no longer make one piece of jewelry at a time. I do specific tasks on many pieces in a day making it more efficient for me to make more inventory. For instance, I set all my stones for many pieces in one day.

Where does your inspiration come from?

Everywhere! Architecture, nature, animals, etc.
