Tell us about yourself! What’s your background and what do you do?
We are two Italian guys who have a love for coffee. One of us has worked in Marketing and the other in Finance. We combined our love of coffee with our knowledge in business and Kicco was formed. We also believe in being entrepreneurs who build up entrepreneurs and so we wanted to have a social responsibility program. We chose to partner with Creamos and Kiva.org. Creamos provides income-generating opportunities for women in Guatemala. They make keychains and jewelry out of recycled material, we buy the keychains and sell them or give them away. For Kiva we donate $1 per lb to fund microloans in other countries. Read more about their Social Responsibility program here.

How did you learn your craft? Tell us about your first finished product.
We learned by consulting industry experts and food scientists, then trial and error.
Where does the name of your business come from?
Kicco is the phonetic pronunciation of 'bean' in Italian. Koffie is Afrikaans for coffee.
How long does it take to make your product and what’s involved in the process?
We keep our process a trade secret.
Where does your inspiration come from?
Our inspiration comes from community and friendship. We wanted to create a brand we were proud of. Both from the product and the community.
What’s your favorite product that you’ve created?
Andrea loves the Colombia and Vincent loves the Guatemala.
What question do you get asked the most at pop-up markets?
We get asked, “what does CBD do inside of coffee?” CBD enhances coffee in a way. You get the energy without the jitters or anxiety.
What’s something unique about you that most people don’t know (or wouldn’t guess)?
Before Kicco we both drank mostly espresso.
What’s your favorite beverage to sip on?
Kicco Koffie.
