Tell us about yourself! What’s your background and what do you do?

I've been a Professional Photographer for 16 years. My business background works perfectly with this new venture and I've had a blast restoring and selling our Vintage Posters. 

How did you learn your craft? Tell us about your first finished product.

This business started with Santa Clause. My wife wanted a picture of Santa to hang up in our house a few Christmases ago and couldn't find anything she liked. I started digging around and found the perfect Vintage Santa Poster. It was in tatters, so I restored it and hundreds of other Vintage Posters since then and now we have a booming business!! Thanks, Santa :)

Where does the name of your business come from?

The MEC are my initials and we sell Vintage Posters... MEC Vintage Posters

How long does it take to make your product and what’s involved in the process?

In an attempt to honor the artisans of the past, I rescue, retouch, color balance, and repair these amazing Vintage images; I bring the original glory back to forgotten masterpieces and at last count have 2,000+ unique posters.

Where does your inspiration come from?

My inspiration comes from the nostalgia for Vintage Pop Culture. Everything looks the same nowadays, we live in a copycat world. I really appreciate the artistic ability of the artisans of our past and want to bring that back into our current culture. 

What’s your favorite product that you’ve created?

I love all of the Posters, but my favorite is probably "The Texan,” a Vintage Comic Book cover. I love adventure and heroes and it just takes me back to a better time when these ideas were more prevalent in our culture.

What question do you get asked the most at pop-up markets?

“Do these come in bigger sizes?” And YES, we are finally making enlargement sizes!! 

What’s something unique about you that most people don’t know (or wouldn’t guess)?

I LOVE cats and have spent countless hours watching cat videos :)

What’s your favorite beverage to sip on?

I love iced tea.

What’s up next for MEC Vintage Posters?

We get asked constantly about our Vintage Comic Book Coloring Books... they are so much fun!! We've been working hard on them and will have NEW designs coming out soon!! 

What’s your favorite type of music?

I love the Vintage stuff, of course! I've been collecting old vinyl and have anything from Frank Sinatra to Johnny Cash to Ray Conniff and more.
